Wood Turning by Paul Reeves

Using wood from in and around the New Forest I create both functional and sculptural forms. Often using fallen or dead trees, I make best use of each piece even if that means including the faults inherent in this type of material.
My work is both traditional and experimental including such techniques as colouring, carving, scorching, stapling and metal leaf application.
Over the years my turnings have gone to many European countries and Canada. They can also be found in the Daniel Collection. This is a major British collection of turned art including pieces by many of the best international turners.
My main aim in turning is to produce pieces that are pleasing to both the eye and touch while being technically excellent.
